This is a graceful, deep form of body work, as well as a pleasant, moving and extremely relaxing massage. The entire body is being massaged with oil, flowing, gentle or strong strokes and gets stretched and moved. It is a cross between “energy-work” and “rhythmic connective tissue massage”. The demanding technique requires great skill and emotional competence on the part of the masseur. With large, powerful and flowing movements in rhythm with the music, the hands and lower arms of the therapist are working first on the back (symbolizing the future) and then gently on the belly (holding the feelings of the past). Lomi Lomi Nui is a massage difficult to put into words – it has to be experienced!
