Manual lymphatic drainage, developed by Danish massage therapist and physiotherapist Dr. phil. Emil Vodder (1896-1986), is a technique primarily used for reducing tissue swelling (edema) and promoting decongestion after procedures, surgeries, and in cases of dyslipidemia.

This method targets the lymphatic system present throughout the body, acting like a “garbage disposal” for cell fragments, waste products, fat cells, bacteria, and viruses. It plays a crucial role in supporting the immune system and fatty acid processing.

The process involves gentle and continuous movements, transitioning smoothly between shearing and relaxation phases. By selectively redirecting free liquid into treated areas, lymphatic drainage brings about a strong, relaxing, analgesic, and soothing effect. It is vital for fully stimulating both the immune system and fat metabolism, contributing to overall well-being.
